2006 Strategic Plan Available for Review (Updated 2/19/06)
During the last month's Minnesota Section cabinet meeting hosted by Section Manager Skip Jackson, KS0J a strategic plan for growing ARES in Minnesota was presented and reviewed by fellow appointees. These 2006 goals can be reviewed in the Strategic Plan-2006. Your comments and suggestions are welcome. Please send them to the SEC whose address information is found in the Leadership Directory.

Region 4 and 5 Organizational Meeting - February 10, 2006 (2/1/06)
Amateurs who are interested in helping ARES programs in West Central and Southwest Minnesota are encouraged to attend an information and organization meeting to be held Friday, February 10, 2006 in Glencoe, MN. See the attached information page and RSVP to Don Burgess, KC0QNA. We hope to see you there!

Assistance Section Emergency Coordinator Appointment (2/1/06)
I am also pleased to announce the following Assistant SEC appointments:

  • Don Burgess, KC0QNA
    Assistant Section Emergency Coordinator - Special Projects.
    Don will be helping me plan and organize special projects during my first year as SEC. Some of the special projects we are working on are ARES membership and leadership recruiting activities, training materials and classes, etc.
  • Randy "Max" Wendel, KM0D
    Assistant Section Emergency Coordinator - Planning
    Max will is responsible for reviewing and updating the MN Section ARES plan. The plan was last updated in 2003. Max will spend 30 days gathering input from interested persons, gathering and comparing section plans from other states, convening a panel of ECs from around Minnesota then rewriting the plan from top to bottom. Watch for publication of the old plan on this web site. Please contact Max if you wish to participate in this process.
